In 2019, he won the trophy of Bigg Boss Marathi 2 along with a cash prize of 17 lakhs.

Mahesh Manjrekar, the host of Bigg Boss Marathi, promised to work with Shiv in his next directorial venture after being impressed by his game on the reality show.

He is passionate about dancing and has opened his own dancing studio called Shiv Thakare Dancing Studio in his hometown.
